About YIMO
The Youth International Math Olympiad (YIMO) is a free, online math competition. It exists to give overlooked talent a rigorous proving ground: a place to sharpen problem-solving skills, demonstrate ability on an international stage, and build the quantitative foundation every AI and ML builder needs - the math that underpins modern AI is the math tested here.
YIMO features individual rounds with meaningful recognition for every level of achievement. Open to all students worldwide, free to enter. Registration closes May 17th at 11:59 PM EST.
Who Can Compete
Open to all ages worldwide. Free to enter. No prior experience required.
Competition Format
Division 1 - Advanced
Early AIME to high AIME level
- 20 questions: 10 MCQ + 10 AIME-type integer answers (000-999)
- Top 8 scorers advance to Final Round: 2 computational + 2 proof problems (High AIME - AMO level)
Scoring
Division 2 - Beginner
AMC-10 to early AIME level
- 20 questions: 10 MCQ + 10 AIME-type integer answers (000-999)
- Top 8 scorers advance to Final Round: 3 computational + 1 proof problem (Early AIME - Mid AIME level)
